Best Fudgy Brownies

Ultra chocolaty fudge brownies

If you are looking for a perfectly fudgy and melt-in-your-mouth brownie, look no further. I’ve been obsessed with creating the ultimate rich & decadent brownie that checks all of the boxes. These do take just a bit of extra prep work, as we are using multiple chocolates— cocoa powder (to keep things light) and melted semi sweet chips (to give them that fudgy bite)… but believe me when I say that the extra steps are worth it. These will be your new go-to for every birthday party, holiday, and family get together.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Salted Butter (1 stick, Melted)

  • 3/4 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

  • 1/2 Cup Dark Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 Cup White Granulated Sugar

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1/4 Cup Milk

  • 1 & 1/2 TSP. Vanilla Extract

  • 1/2 TSP. Salt

  • 2/3 Cup All Purpose Flour

  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder

  • 1/4 TSP. Baking Powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 Degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. In a small pot, begin melting butter on low heat. As that liquifies, gradually add semi sweet chips, dark brown sugar, and white sugar. Stir continually with a whisk until butter and chocolate have melted, and sugars have somewhat dissolved (about 3 minutes). Set aside to cool.

  3. In a small bowl, lightly whisk eggs with a fork until yolks and whites just combine. Stir in milk, vanilla, and salt. Set aside.

  4. Transfer cooled chocolate/butter mixture to a large mixing bowl. Quickly stir in egg/milk mixture with a whisk or spoon until well incorporated.

  5. Add flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder to mixture and stir until just combined.

  6. Prepare 9x9 cooking pan— grease thoroughly with butter or cooking oil.

  7. Evenly pour batter to pan and place on the middle rack of oven for 30-35 minutes, or until toothpick pulls clean from the center.

  8. Remove from oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before cutting.

  9. Enjoy!

Helpful Notes:

  • Cooling your chocolate mixture once it’s removed from the stove is important— we want to avoid cooking the eggs when we incorporate them during step 4. Time spent prepping your egg mixture will give your chocolate enough time to cool off.

  • You can usually tell when something is ready to be taken from the oven by its smell. Your brownies will begin to release a warm chocolaty aroma that will fill the house. Additionally, the edges of your brownies will start to crust, and when you pull a toothpick from the center of your pan, it should pull clean (meaning, no wet batter clinging on).
