Chocolate Maple Granola
Oats & nuts sweetened with chocolate chips & maple syrup
Having something sweet in the house that is on the healthier side feels essential, especially when you have a sweet tooth (like me!). This filling granola is perfect on it’s own for snacky moments throughout the day, but also pairs nicely on top of yogurt in the mornings. This recipe takes just a few simple ingredients, including whatever nuts you have on hand, oats, a bit of chocolate, and maple syrup… that’s it!
Ingredients:
1 & 1/2 Cup Oats
1 Cup Hazelnuts
1/2 Cup Almonds
3/4 Cup Natural Maple Syrup
1/3 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 275 Degrees Fahrenheit.
On a large baking sheet— spread oats, hazelnuts, and almonds evenly. Bake for about 15 minutes— just enough to get the oats & nuts a little toasty.
Meanwhile, in a small pot— pour maple syrup and continually stir over medium heat for about 15 minutes. The syrup may begin to bubble up and this is okay. Just be sure to lower heat slightly & as needed to prevent from boiling over.
In a large bowl— Combine oats & nuts with maple syrup and mix until well coated.
Add chocolate chips and stir until combined.
Enjoy!
Helpful Notes:
In this recipe, I use Crown Maple Syrup, containing no added sweeteners.
Store granola in an airtight container.
While I’ve created a balance of sweetness that I love, you may prefer to go less sweet. If you’d like to cut the sweetness, opt for 1/2 cup of maple syrup instead.
This recipe is a great base for different combinations of nuts, so feel free to mix it up. Just keep the ratio the same (about 1 & 1/2 cups of nuts) and you’re good to go!
